What does it mean to "Play the Right Way?" Most of us have either heard the phrase from coaches or even from analysts and sports writers. They usually don't give us a definition but rather use the term to vaguely describe a team or a player that they find to be acceptable in either their style or their philosophy of the game.

With that in mind, we've come up with a set of characteristics that we believe define a team or a player that "Plays the Right Way." Our goal is to develop teams and players that live up to these expectations.

The Spring Valley Boys Basketball team has developed a Core Values Statement that is intended to guide the growth and development of all team members as we navigate another season. While one indicator of success can still be found on the scoreboard, that number does not always fully represent the true measure of accomplishment made by a team. The Core Values Statement is intended to give direction to each member of our team, regardless of the endeavor. We believe that being a member of the Spring Valley Boys Basketball team includes more than playing basketball. It is an opportunity to give back to the community, develop life-long skills, and prepare to be a productive member of our society.
